Friday 4th of September - Daily Trials with Mother & I.T. Well I haven't blogged for nearly two weeks, mainly because we were away for five days with Scott & Olivia which was a lovely break. Plus having my right arm in plaster has restricted my capabilities and the voicemail pain killers have been putting me to sleep!! So if course that has limited my helping Mum too, although that hasn't stopped her phone calls of course! However today has been most trying so I decided to blog. We picked up Mums shopping list as usual yesterday, which she admitted was quite long because after all we were away last week of course!! Mum - "Plus it has a few extra items on that Tesco's might not have. " Me - "Really? Well it's just as well we are in St Anne's tomorrow as I have got a Chiropractor appointment." Mum - " Oh well you can get those other items at Home Bargains while you are there, can't you? " I can tell you the air was almost blue as Gary's temper seethed behind me.
Anyway we took Mums shopping round this morning and Mum let us in dressed in just her underwear telling us she was struggling to get her tights on! I can tell you I couldn't bundle her out of the kitchen quick enough as Gary had followed me in carrying the shopping and I could imagine his face! So while Mum got dressed I started to put the freezer items away, when Mum came bustling in and shouted "Don't put that in there, Ice Cream goes in the top drawer, for goodness sake! " I nearly clocked Mum with her Ducks legs before they reached the freezer but Gary grabbed me and told me to rest as I was one handed. However once Mum started ordering Gary about he soon stopped and said he would let her get on with it. Later we called back with her Home Bargains shopping, which thankfully was okay. Then Mum said "How do I watch the "Switch On off the Lights tonight it's online isn't it? Can I watch it on my TV." Luckily I had already looked how to access it, so showed Mum how to get the MTV channel up on her TV but as a precaution set her iPad up to view it on there and told Mum the pop music concert started at 8.30 pm. The lights switching on around 9.30pm. With that we left and went home for tea, as we left Gary said "do you really think she will follow that?" I replied "I really can't do any more and she can ring me if she struggles tonight." Yes you guessed it while I was in the bathroom at 8.29pm Mum rang frantic that she couldn't get MTV upon YouTube in fact she couldn't get YouTube on at all! So I rang Mum back and tried to talk her through switching to YouTube but almost gave up when Mum said "All I've got is a blue screen!" Me - " Well press the home button, and what's happening now? " Mum - "I don't know, the tv's gone off" Me - "Well is there a blue or a red light in the corner?" Mum sounding woeful " There's nothing it's completely blank! " Me - " Oh FFS Mum, (I am sorry I don't normally swear but I was becoming exasperated!) Get your iPad! " "Oh no I nearly dropped it" said Mum, " What? " I asked. "My iPad of course, it's not easy moving around one handed! " Me sarcastically "Really Mum? Why would You be one handed, in fact don't bother explaining just switch it on and go to the Safari icon at the bottom. " Mum - "Okay there's no need to get cross, oh there's just some pop star on singing! Is that what you're watching?" Me - " No because I have been sorting you out, but I told you the actual switch on wasn't on until later. " "Humph well I don't think much of this!" Said Mum and put the phone down! Grr Unbelievable!! Yes I did watch the rest of it on the TV but must admit I was a little disappointed and had to agree with Mum while I thought of the millions watching probably thinking 'Is this what all the fuss is about? " Sorry but I think I am turning into my Mum!!
